Mataró strengthens its European leadership in the textile sector during ACTE’s institutional mission to Brussels.

Mataró continues to consolidate its role as a leading city in the European textile sector. On June 2 and 3, the Mataró City Council, in its capacity as president of ACTE (the Association of European Textile Collectivities), took part in an institutional mission to Brussels focused on the future of the European textile industry.

The meeting included ACTE’s Annual General Assembly and Executive Committee, as well as a conference and a round table dedicated to the green transition, the new European regulatory framework, and competitiveness opportunities for the sector. The event brought together representatives from European institutions, industrial stakeholders, technology centers, and textile regions.

One of the main outcomes of the mission was the expansion of ACTE’s European network, with new members joining from organizations linked to training, innovation, research, and development in the textile sector. This growth strengthens ACTE’s role as a key European network for textile and fashion territories.

For Mataró, this mission represents another step forward in its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and international cooperation. In this context, Reimagine Textile is part of a local ecosystem working to promote new projects, support entrepreneurship, and connect talent with the current needs of the sector.

The transformation of the European textile industry requires collaboration between public administrations, companies, knowledge centers, and innovation initiatives. Mataró thus reinforces its position as an active territory in this transition.
